Burgers smothered in gravy? Fried loaded with bacon? Wings topped with all kinds of sauce? Junk food is bigger and better than ever. Leading the way in the cheat day charge is Burger & Beyond so I had to get down to their first ever restaurant to check it out.
Moving away from their humble street food stall beginnings, Burger & Beyond Shoreditch is a grown up spot filled with classic cocktails, delicious wines and craft beers in a slinky setting. Think marble tabletops and low lighting paired with a menu that includes drinking snacks, small plates, burgers and sides.
In case you were living under a rock in January and missed my slew of Instagram feed-clogging snaps, let me refresh your memory on the banging menu. First up is the dirty tots; an unmissable load of buffalo, bacon + cheese… an unmissable 10/10 that made regular fries and lamb nuggets seem unworthy.
When it comes to the main event, everyone loves the BBB – and I agree that it’s delicious – but it’s the Krispy fried chicken burger that really knocked my socks off. Yes, there’s cereal in the batter for an extra crunch and the addition of miso maple butter and ranch pickle slaw made it a real winner.
